A highly skilled faculty presents the workshops, each designed to promote personal and professional development through the study and application of Virginia Satir's system for growth and change. We believe the primary tool of the change agent is the SELF, and that human effectiveness requires openness to personal healing, learning, growing, and changing. For each program, we join a diverse group of participants in a structured, process-oriented learning community. The primary themes are congruence and the universality of emotionality. The human relationship in its many forms and contexts is the practice domain. Participants in these programs learn Satir concepts and methods for:
These concepts and methods are basic learning objectives in all the programs. A balance of discussion, demonstration, and experiential opportunities is created for each of the programs, with the exception of The Personal Development Workshop (which is almost completely experiential). Building self-esteem in individuals, couples, families, groups, and organizations so that health, performance, and relationships can be improved is the primary goal for each of the workshops. The workshop designs include sessions involving the entire training community (note limits on size in the specific workshop of your interest), triads, dyads, and small learning and debriefing groups.
Satir Systems faculty is available for customized training and consultations. For more information, contact the office (address is located on the bottom of the application).
